What is the secret of the unique DI BENNARDO SUPERIORE Olive Oil? DI BENNARDO SUPERIORE is produced in the province
of Siracusa, in the southeastern part of Sicily at an altitude of
1,600 - 2,300 feet above sea level. Steep mountainsides and almost impassable pathways make it very difficult to work in the groves. That´s why nurturing and harvesting of the olives requires an enormous amount of time and labour-intensive care. Our precious olive oil is extracted and naturally decanted from one of the rarest species of olive tree, the „Tonda Iblea“ (100% genuine). From this exlusive tree our SUPERIORE gets its ultimate flavour. All the olive trees producing our „fluid gold“ are between 150 and 300 years old. Because of their age the roots of these trees are well able to retrieve many of the valuable flavours and substances out of the deep rocks of the earth. Such a luxurious product is naturally limited in quantity. That´s why each year only 999 bottles will be produced, each of them carrying a unique number hand-painted on its label. The design of the SUPERIORE is unique, too. The unrivalled olive juice is filled into a black Grappa-bottle, which is manufactured in Milano especially for the Di Bennardo company. A consecutively numbered certificate of origin on parchment paper proves the quality and uniqueness of our oil and provides the connoisseur with useful hints how to treat and apply DI BENNARDO SUPERIORE.
