DI BENNARDO - how it all began

Everything started with a journey. Giovanni Di Bennardo was still very young when his parents took him for the first time to Sicily, his second home.

There he suddenly found himself amidst joyous family celebrations right in the heart of this island´s austere landscape, he came to know happy people, glad faces and delicious food.
And for the first time he tasted genuine Sicilian olive oil.
He did like the adults did - and dipped a piece of fresh bread into the liquid gold.
Its purity revealed to him the whole world of all the delicate flavours, his tongue it tasted agreeably bitter yet intensive like tomatoes, freshly cut grass and rosemary.

Home again in Zurich little Giovanni longed for this island, with its laughing folks and their seductive delicacies. As a grown up this longing still remained and Giovanni decided to bring this palatable delightfulness to people far away from Sicily.

The son of Italian immigrants called this unique gourmet product: DI BENNARDO Olive Oil.
At the harvest in Sicily every October the olives are picked by hand and then carefully pressed.

After decantation Giovanni DI BENNARDO personally bottled the first batch and with this precious load he began his journey to the northern countries. His aim was to make a present to people´s senses - through perfection in the production, an extraordinarily balanced aroma and a purity of the taste, thus quenching the longing for this island of paradise.

To this day it is the DI BENNARDO´s claim to spoil all gourmets and connoisseurs with absolute quality and to do justice to highest culinary demands.

DI BENNARDO guarantees with his own name the most palatable pleasure.
